So what does the new stuff sound like?

"...Well, a lot of it is classic Manson: dark, sinister vocals over throbbing rhythms and heavy, thrashing guitars. The vocals are featured prominently, especially on the slower tempo grinds, though a couple had an almost EBM quality that will fit well on goth club dance floors. One track has a super catchy chorus that could do the K-ROQ rounds. We asked about titles, but Manson said "no names!" We were asked to not reveal lyrics, either, but all you have to do is watch "Born Villain" to get an idea of the themes and feel: arty, dramatic, salacious, depraved. You know, the usual."

Marilyn Manson has announced the title for the eighth studio album,"Born Villain".

“‘Born Villain’ is the title of the new Marilyn Manson album. While looking to experiment in unlikely collaborations, I met Shia, and we spent a long night at my studio. After seeing ‘Maniac,’ his short film, which is somewhat inspired by ‘Man Bites Dog,’ I was astonished by his directing ability. So I shared quite a few of my favorite inspirations in art, literature, and obviously…film. I was impressed with how Shia digested my world, and made what I’d like to think, is both an homage and a mockery of the history of Cinema. We ended up writing a short film, and just recently released a trailer (see below). The score is from my new album, and is, in the words of Macbeth, ‘full of sound and fury.’

I find the idea of a yawning MGM lion far more interesting than a roaring one.

Brave Now World. Don’t ever believe what you read, especially if you are illiterate.  Art will be the burning churches, burning beds, burning witches, burning bridges, burning Cadillacs, burning forests, burning flags, and the burning human remains that are the evidence of the burned books, filled with stories of our razor and rope burns.

But we will not be the ashes. We will not be cremated, we will cauterize our wounds.  We never wanted our wings anyway.

We are more than the flightless creatures, that are always expected to rise from the bonfire. These are barbecues for trembling, idiot arsons who pretend to be America’s Vatican in whatever ‘ism’ is easiest to swallow.  After the horrid blowing jobs, they expect us to fight against each other to obtain the security of willing slaves.
